A big wave of digitalization is surging even toward the medical industry, and digital transformation (DX) is one of the indispensable major elements in future medical care. In 2020, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare approved telephone and online consultation as a temporary and exceptional measure in response to the spread of COVID-19. However, even after the approval, the number of medical institutions that have introduced this system from initial consultation remains around 5%, and the system has not been fully adopted or utilized.

Therefore, we developed a medical DX system mainly with Doctors Station, which would be Japan’s first Digital Hospital Platform. A large number of users, including more than 150 companies, 85 or more local governments, and as many as 200,000 patients, have adopted this system in a short period of about two years, which allows us to provide a wide range of medical support services.

In this lecture, Yanagawa, who has supported the creation of numerous digital healthcare services as an active doctor and the CEO of a health technology company, will talk about the structure of Doctors Station, Japan’s first Digital Hospital Platform, as well as its cases to date, examples of its utilization, and effective methods of use.
