Please be advised that Doctors Co., Ltd., (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; president and CEO: Takao Yanagawa; hereinafter referred to as “Doctors”), a company that provides one-stop services for development support, distribution and sales of digital healthcare services, and medical-care-collaborated telemedicine support platform, has acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of Farmax Medical Co., Ltd., (head office: Chino City, Nagano; representative: Chiaki Abe, hereinafter referred to as “Farmax”) and has made Farmax a wholly owned subsidiary of Doctors.
– Reason for share acquisition
Doctors comprehensively supports the development of apps and services in the digital healthcare and medical DX fields, as well as the creation of those businesses together with over 600 expert doctors, most of whom are specialists.
Meanwhile, Farmax holds the Class 1 Medical Device Manufacturing and Sales License corresponding to specially controlled medical devices (Classes III and IV) as specified pursuant to the Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Products Including Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices and has knowledge of a variety of medical devices, including the field of orthopedics.
By Farmax’s joining the Doctors Group as a wholly owned subsidiary, Doctors will be able to enhance its response and support for software to medical devices that will be required for the development of future digital healthcare services and business expansion.
Through this M&A, Farmax will provide support to Doctors so that it can acquire medical device certification in the Doctors Cloud business developed by Doctors. Farmax will also develop a new business related to the manufacturing and sales of medical devices corresponding to Classes I to IV.
